Pilates Neck Pull



This is the 1st time this client has attempted the pilates mat exercise neck pull. Thisbis an intermediate to advanced exercise. Try it!

Inhale to lift head and neck off mat, exhale to continue to flex the spine off the mat and up and over legs, inhale restart spine from tail to head, exhale controlled roll down from tail to head.

This client is generally very tight in her chest, shoulders, back. Usually she is unable to open her elbows anywhere near this degree. We started her session with some deep upper body stretching and fascia release and boom! .... She executed this beautifully. This would have been impossible to do well without all of the upper body opening we did, not due to an abdominal weakness (she has the core), but due to all her tight areas holding her back and compensating. There is strength in flexibility!
