But, when those fatty acids can’t be used and we get ready to consume our next food, the remaining essential fatty acids are stored away inside our fats cells.
This is where the nagging problem begins. Those fatty acids that are being stored away combine with two other essential fatty acids and a glycerol molecule to produce what’s known as a triglyceride.
Triglycerides are very big, and for their size aren’t able to exit the body fat cells like those free-flowing essential fatty acids can. As a result, triglycerides become stubborn body fat that is so difficult to eliminate incredibly.
“But here’s the thing,” Flatt said. “Those triglycerides can be targeted, plus they can be broken back down into those essential fatty acids that can be burned by your body for energy. Actually, when we breakdown those triglycerides, it’s kind of like dumping rocket gasoline into your vehicle’s vehicle's gas tank. Those broken down triglycerides flood the body with a great source of energy that it actually wants to burn off.”
Flatt designed The 3 Week Diet never to only breakdown existing triglycerides, but to avoid the physical body from forming new ones.
